Nullifies North Dakota land management plan
Congress would cancel a Bureau of Land Management plan for North Dakota that limits oil and gas development in low-potential areas and new coal leasing near existing mines.
- Cancels the January 8, 2025, land use plan for the North Dakota Field Office
- The plan updated a 1988 plan for managing federal lands in the area
- It limits oil and gas development in areas with low potential
- It limits new coal leasing to within four miles of existing mines
