Cancels a 2024 plan that made about 1.2 million acres of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge unavailable for oil and gas leasing, opening the area to leasing.
- Nullifies a December 9, 2024, Bureau of Land Management decision on the leasing program
- The 2024 decision had made about 1.2 million acres unavailable for leasing or exploration
- The earlier 2020 decision had made all roughly 1.6 million acres available for leasing
- Current law requires at least 400,000 acres to be offered in a lease sale
