Blocks new rule on foreign student and visitor stays

Congress would cancel a new federal rule that sets fixed admission periods and extension procedures for foreign students, exchange visitors, and foreign media workers.

• That rule sets a fixed time period of admission for these visitors
• It also creates a procedure for them to extend their stay
• If the resolution passes, the rule would have no force or effect
