Cancels new energy standards for commercial refrigerators
Blocks a Department of Energy rule that set stricter energy-saving requirements for commercial refrigerators, freezers and refrigerator-freezers, so that equipment would not have to meet them.
- Cancels the rule published January 21, 2025 by the Department of Energy
- The rule had set new energy conservation standards for commercial refrigeration equipment
- Under the rule, equipment had to comply by January 22, 2029
- With the rule cancelled, the equipment is no longer required to meet the new standards
