Caps insulin costs and helps uninsured people
For plan years starting in 2028, health plans must cover selected insulin products with no deductible and no more than $35 per 30-day supply, and the bill funds help for uninsured people.
- Starting in 2028, plans must cover certain insulin products with no deductible and no more than $35 per 30-day supply
- Plans could not require prior approval for these insulin products except for safety or quantity limits
- Provides $2 million a year from 2027 through 2032 for a resource center and 24/7 hotline for uninsured people
- Lets officials speed review of similar biologic medicines when competition is limited
