119th Congress
H.R. 10250

Bars union labor requirements in federal contracts

Federal agencies and the Defense Department could not require companies bidding on contracts to use union labor or give those companies an advantage.

  • Agencies may not require or favor a bidder based on whether its workers are covered by a union contract
  • The same rule applies to the Secretary of Defense for defense contracts
  • The change is written into the federal contracting and defense contracting laws
