Federal agencies would have to buy clothing and uniforms made in the United States, with some exceptions when U.S.-made items are not available.
- Covers clothing, uniforms, footwear, and the fabrics used to make them
- Agencies may skip the rule if U.S. goods of good enough quality cannot be bought at market prices
- Exceptions apply to small purchases, items bought for gift shop resale, and some buys outside the U.S
- The rule starts 180 days after the law takes effect and applies to new contracts
