Requires airlines to install air quality monitors, train crews on engine oil or hydraulic fluid fumes, and report and investigate smoke or fume events on planes.
- Within 180 days, airlines must install monitors to detect contaminated air in the air supply
- Requires yearly training for flight attendants, pilots, mechanics, and airport first responders on smoke or fume events
- Creates a reporting system for crew to report engine oil or hydraulic fluid smoke or fume events
- Requires the Federal Aviation Administration to investigate if passengers or crew needed medical care beyond first aid
