Phases in overtime pay for farm workers
Farm workers would get overtime pay after 40 to 55 hours a week, with the limit dropping each year until 2030 and a later schedule for farms with 25 or fewer workers.
- Overtime starts after 55 hours a week in 2027, dropping to 50 in 2028, 45 in 2029 and 40 in 2030
- Farms with 25 or fewer workers start in 2030 and reach the 40-hour limit in 2033
- Overtime pay must be at least 1.5 times the worker's regular pay rate
- Repeals several existing exemptions that kept farm workers out of these rules
