Ends congressional pensions after expulsion or ethics finding
Members of Congress who are expelled, or who resign after an ethics committee alleges misconduct, would lose credit for their years of service when retirement pay is calculated.
- Expelled members would lose credit for all prior service as a member of Congress
- Also covers members who resign after an ethics panel alleges a violation
- They could get back their own contributions, but not government savings-plan contributions
- A presidential pardon would not bring the retirement pay back
