Raises the federal minimum wage in steps to $20
Sets the federal minimum wage at $15 an hour in 2027, $17.50 in 2028 and $20 in 2029, then adjusts it each year based on the median hourly wage.
- Minimum wage becomes $15.00 an hour starting January 1, 2027
- It rises to $17.50 an hour in 2028 and $20.00 an hour in 2029
- Starting in 2030, the rate is set each year using the median hourly wage of all workers
- The yearly figure is rounded to the nearest five cents
