Orders study on how schools teach 9/11

Directs the Secretary of Education to study whether and how states and public schools teach about the September 11, 2001 attacks, then report findings to Congress.

• Study covers all states, a national sample of school districts, and a sample of their schools
• Checks which states require or offer lessons on 9/11 and what standards they use
• Identifies teaching materials, teacher training, and challenges schools face
• A report to Congress is due within 3 years of the bill becoming law
