Bans social media accounts for users under 16
Platforms meeting certain criteria would have to close accounts held by users under 16, notify them, delete their data, and let users appeal an age decision.
- Platforms must find accounts of known users under 16 within 60 days
- Accounts are closed 30 days after the user is notified
- Personal data from the closed account must then be deleted
- Users can appeal an age decision, decided within 5 days
