Overhauls Guam and Marianas visa waiver program rules
Changes how the visa waiver program for Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands can be suspended and adds six Asian countries to the list of places whose travelers can use it.
- Adds India, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and Mongolia as eligible countries
- Suspending a country would require written findings and an economic impact review
- Requires talks with the island governors and several federal departments before a suspension
- Congress must get notice 60 days before a suspension starts, and suspensions are reviewed yearly
