Lets courts order blocking of foreign piracy sites
Lets copyright owners ask a federal court to declare a foreign website a piracy site, then order internet providers to block their users from reaching it.
- A copyright owner must first notify the site's operator and its domain registrar
- A judge can order blocking if the site is mainly built to share infringing material
- Blocking orders last up to 12 months and can be renewed
- Providers with fewer than 100,000 U.S. monthly users are left out
