Requires Medicare drug middlemen to submit competing bids
Makes Medicare drug plans take competing bids from pharmacy benefit managers, publish cost details, and face audits and fines when actual costs run above what they projected.
- Applies to plan years starting January 1, 2028
- Plans must accept all bids and disclose rebates, fees and expected costs
- Government audits at least one-third of drug plan sponsors each year
- Fines up to $100,000 for false bid information
