Bans withholding wages to pay medical debt
Stops wages from being garnished to pay medical debt, and bars courts and states from ordering or enforcing that kind of wage withholding.
- No worker's wages could be withheld to pay a medical debt
- Courts and states could not order or enforce such garnishment
- Counts debt owed to health care facilities and health care providers
- Takes effect 6 months after the law is passed
