Voids contract clauses that hide child sexual abuse
Makes secrecy agreements unenforceable when they stop child sexual abuse victims or other people from talking about the abuse, and requires guardians and trustees to report grooming.
- Contract clauses that stop a victim from talking about the abuse would be void
- Applies to agreements signed before or after this law takes effect
- Guardians, trustees and similar figures must report grooming to law enforcement within 90 to 180 days
- Victims can sue a fiduciary who failed to report; state attorneys general can also sue
