Pays hospitals to train advanced practice nurses
Creates a Medicare program that pays eligible hospitals for the clinical training they give to advanced practice registered nurses, working through regional teaching hubs.
- Hospitals must partner with at least one nursing school and two non-hospital care settings
- Payment is a set amount per student, adjusted each year for inflation
- At least half of each nurse's clinical training must happen in non-hospital settings, unless waived
- Hospitals that skip the required yearly report have payments cut by 25 percent
