Gives colleges grants for free student meals
Creates a competitive federal grant program that lets colleges and universities serve free meals to low-income students, up to 10 meals a week each.
- Colleges where at least 20 percent of students can get Pell grants could apply
- Students could get between 1 and 10 free meals a week
- Priority goes to students with Pell grants, work-study jobs, or unstable housing or food
- Grants would last up to 2 years, with money approved through 2032
