Creates tariff exclusions for homebuilding materials
Sets up a process for U.S. builders and trade groups to ask the Commerce Department to exclude home construction products from some tariffs, with some refunds.
- The Commerce Department must decide requests for listed critical homebuilding products within 15 days
- Other covered articles get decisions within 60 days
- Exclusions cover duties above the rate in effect on January 19, 2025, but not antidumping or safeguard duties
- Approved exclusions can apply retroactively; refund requests due within 180 days
