Requires VA to disclose artificial intelligence use
When the Department of Veterans Affairs uses artificial intelligence to interact with veterans and their families, it must tell them they are talking to a machine, not a person.
- The department has 180 days after the law passes to start disclosing these uses
- The notice must state the person is interacting with an artificial intelligence system, not a human employee
- The notice must also identify the general purpose the system is being used for
- Internal use of artificial intelligence to help employees with clerical or analytical work is exempt
