Gives rural health care workers a $10,000 tax credit

Creates a refundable $10,000 yearly tax credit for primary care doctors, mental health workers, nurses and medical residents who work at least 900 hours a year in rural areas.

  • Credit is $10,000 per year for those working at least 900 hours in a rural area
  • Phases out for people with income above $170,000 a year
  • Covers primary care practitioners, mental health professionals, nurses and medical residents
  • Applies to tax years starting after December 31, 2026, and ends after 2033
