Audits risky cellular modules in Defense systems
Requires a Defense Department-wide audit of cellular modules from flagged suppliers or under Chinese jurisdiction, plus reports on how risks will be reduced.
- Audit must start within 180 days and cover all military departments, combatant commands and defense agencies
- Also covers contractor-operated systems connected to Defense networks or accessing Defense information
- Reports on removal, replacement and other fixes are due in 1 year, then every 2 years for up to 6 years
- A government watchdog must report on how well the effort worked
