Lets stolen tax refund checks be replaced by direct deposit

Taxpayers whose paper refund check was lost or stolen could choose to get the replacement money sent straight to their bank account instead of waiting for another paper check.

• The Treasury Department would set up the process for choosing direct deposit
• Today, replacement checks for lost or stolen refunds are usually sent as paper checks again
