Changes education benefits and repayment rules for veterans
Updates Department of Veterans Affairs education benefits for veterans and service members, including faster repayments and new independent study rules.
- Requires repayment within 60 days after a veteran uses up Post-9/11 G.I. Bill benefits, even without housing aid
- Adds interaction rules for independent study certificate programs and allows for-profit colleges to offer them
- Lets service members who finished at least half a course arrange with their school to finish it when called to duty
- Extends a pension limit for veterans in Department of Veterans Affairs domiciliary care through March 31, 2033
