H.R. 189
Ends Securities and Exchange Commission leasing power
Takes away the Securities and Exchange Commission's power to lease its own general office space and gives that job to the General Services Administration.
- The Securities and Exchange Commission would no longer lease its own general office space
- The General Services Administration would lease that space for the commission instead
- Leases the commission signed before this bill became law would not be affected
- The Government Accountability Office must update a 2016 report on independent leasing powers and report to Congress
