Lets North Dakota trade state land inside reservations
North Dakota could swap state school-trust land located inside tribal reservations for federal land of similar value, and tribes could ask to have that land held in trust for them.
- State land inside reservations could be traded for federal land of similar value
- The state board that manages school lands would arrange trades with the Interior Department
- If a tribe asks, exchanged land inside its reservation would be held in trust for the tribe
- Grazing already happening on exchanged land could continue
