Ends penny production and rounds cash to 5 cents
Stops the Treasury from making new pennies and requires cash payments to be rounded to the nearest five cents, starting one year after the bill passes.
- The Treasury would stop producing pennies, except to meet collector needs
- Pennies would still count as legal tender
- Cash purchases, cash transfers and cash wages would round up or down to the nearest five cents
- The changes would start one year after the bill is enacted
