Expands aquifer recharge water transport rules
Lets holders of existing federal water transport permits move water across Bureau of Land Management land to refill underground water supplies without new federal approval.
- Existing permit holders can move water across Bureau of Land Management land for aquifer recharge without new approval
- They can act for states, tribes, or public entities, not just themselves
- No extra rent to the Bureau of Land Management, except for for-profit uses or companies
- Holders must tell the Bureau of Land Management before using an authorization this way
