Allows supersonic flights over land without a sonic boom
Lets civilian supersonic planes fly over land in the United States without special permission, as long as no sonic boom reaches the ground, and sets noise limits for takeoff and landing.
- A special permission from the Federal Aviation Administration would no longer be required
- Flights would qualify only if no sonic boom reaches the ground
- Supersonic planes could not be louder on takeoff and landing than today's planes
- The agency must review and update those noise limits as technology changes
