Makes fleeing Border Patrol in a vehicle a federal crime
Creates new federal crimes for driving away from Border Patrol agents or officers helping them within 100 miles of the border, with prison time and immigration consequences.
- Applies within 100 miles of the U.S. border
- Sets a required minimum prison term if someone dies or is seriously hurt
- Non-citizens convicted or admitting to it can be deported and denied asylum
