Lets customs share more data on suspected fake goods
Customs officers could share more details, including pictures of packaging, with brand owners when they suspect imported goods break trademark or copyright laws.
- Lets customs ask any party with an interest in the goods to help check them
- Adds pictures of packing materials and containers to the details customs may share
- Requires a reasonable suspicion of a violation, instead of just a suspicion
- Allows sharing of nonpublic data from online marketplaces, shippers and freight handlers
