Directs Treasury to mint a $2.50 coin for the 250th anniversary

Treasury would have to make a $2.50 circulating coin for the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence if it decides that is technically and economically feasible; collectible versions are optional.

• The $2.50 circulating coin is required only if Treasury decides it is technically and economically feasible
• Treasury may also make $2.50 collectible coins in silver, clad and other metals, including gold
• The set design applies for the first five years; Treasury may pick later designs about the nation's founding
• The coins mark 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence
