Requires list of places that allow release without cash bail
Tells the Justice Department to publish each year a list of states and local governments that let people charged with violent or disorderly crimes go free before trial without paying cash bail.
- Covers charges such as murder, rape, burglary, looting and vandalism
- List would name states and local governments and come out every year
- Includes release on a personal promise to appear or an unsecured bond
- An August 2025 executive order asked the department for a similar list
