Clarifies rules for Alaska Native crafts with bird parts
Says federal law does not ban possessing, selling, or shipping authentic Alaska Native crafts, clothing, or art that contain nonedible migratory bird parts, as long as the bird was not taken illegally or wastefully.
- Covers possessing, selling, bartering, purchasing, shipping, or transporting such items
- Applies only if the bird was not taken in a wasteful or illegal manner
- Directs agencies to work with treaty countries on how these items are treated
- The Interior Department must update its rules to carry out the change
