Widens law on sexually explicit depictions of minors
Expands two federal crimes so that causing a minor to be shown in a sexually explicit depiction can be charged even when the minor does not take part in the conduct.
- Current law covers persuading or forcing a minor to take part in sexually explicit conduct for a depiction
- The bill adds persuading or forcing a minor to be shown in such a depiction
- A minor's presence in the depiction counts even if the minor does not take part
- Applies to two federal laws on producing these depictions
