Lets states use foster care funds for housing help
Allows states to spend federal foster care transition money on supportive housing services for young people up to age 26 who were in foster care and get housing aid.
- States could use Chafee program funds for housing support services, such as financial counseling
- Applies to youth up to age 26 who were in foster care and receive Section 8 Family Unification Program help
- Health and Human Services and Housing and Urban Development would jointly write guidance for state agencies
- Health and Human Services would report on housing outcomes and homelessness rates for these youth
