Requires federal agencies to verify payee details before payments go out, and expands a shared government database used to spot and recover improper payments.
- Agencies must verify who is being paid, the payment details, and that money is available
- Expands the Do Not Pay system, which lets agencies check payee eligibility against shared data
- Agencies and state and local governments running federal programs must screen payees before paying
- First-time recipients of awards of $50,000 or more must report after the award
