Requires lifetime no-contact orders for certain crimes
Federal courts must order people convicted of certain violent or sex crimes to have no contact with their victims for life, unless the order is ended or suspended.
- Covers felony convictions for violent crimes or crimes involving sexual conduct
- Order must be issued at sentencing and last for the defendant's lifetime
- Can be requested by the victim or the federal government
- Victims cannot be charged a fee for the order
