Raises veterans disability pay in step with Social Security
Starting December 1, 2026, disability payments for veterans and payments to some surviving spouses and children rise by the same percentage as Social Security benefits.
- New payment amounts take effect December 1, 2026
- Increase matches the Social Security cost-of-living percentage for that year
- Covers disability compensation, extra pay for dependents, a clothing allowance, and survivor payments
- The Department of Veterans Affairs must publish the new amounts in the Federal Register
