Studies counting airport security commutes as work time

The Transportation Security Administration would study whether the time its airport employees spend getting from parking lots or transit stops to their workplaces could count as paid work hours.

• The agency would send the study to Congress
• The study covers time traveling between duty locations, parking lots and bus or transit stops
• It looks at whether that travel time could be treated as on-duty hours
• Only employees working at airport locations are covered
