Reauthorizes disability insurance test projects
Restarts and extends through 2031 the Social Security Administration's authority to run voluntary test projects that temporarily change disability insurance rules and test ways to keep or bring people into the workforce.
- Reauthorizes test projects through 2031; the authority expired on December 31, 2022
- Participation in the test projects must be voluntary
- Projects must be set up so they do not reduce a participant's total income
- The agency must report to Congress 120 days before starting a project, up from 90 days
