Supports a Neuroblastoma Awareness Day
The House would back naming September 3, 2026, as Neuroblastoma Awareness Day to honor children and families affected by this childhood cancer and the doctors and researchers who treat it.
- Neuroblastoma is the most common cancer in infants, with about 600 to 800 new U.S. cases a year
- It makes up about 8 to 10 percent of childhood cancers and about 15 percent of childhood cancer deaths
- About 90 percent of cases are found before age 5, and high-risk cases have a 5-year survival rate near 63 percent
- September is already Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in the United States
