Extends construction deadlines for some hydropower projects
Lets the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission give hydropower projects licensed before March 13, 2020 up to six more years to start building, and reinstate some licenses that expired.
- Applies to hydropower projects licensed before March 13, 2020
- Adds up to 6 more years on top of the 8-year extension already allowed
- The extra time must be given in no more than three back-to-back 2-year periods
- The commission may also bring back certain expired licenses from the date they ended
