Extends sale of military aircraft for firefighting
Lets the Defense Department keep selling surplus aircraft and parts to fight wildfires through 2035, and lets those planes drop water as well as fire retardant.
- Extends the aircraft sale program from June 12, 2025, to October 1, 2035
- Aircraft bought this way can now drop water on fires, not only fire retardant
- Removes the limit on using these aircraft to help fight fires in other countries
