Expands civil lawsuits over fake intimate images
Lets a person sue anyone who makes, shares, or gathers computer-made intimate images of them without consent, and adds more types of money that can be won.
- Creates a federal right to sue over intimate digital forgeries made without consent
- Covers those who make, share, or ask for and receive the images
- Adds punitive damages and the wrongdoer's profits to what can be recovered
- Gives 10 years to file, counting from when the person finds out or turns 18
