Bars ex-officials from lobbying for certain foreign governments
People in Senate-confirmed executive branch jobs would be barred, after leaving, from representing or advising certain foreign governments before U.S. officials.
- Applies to agency heads, deputies, and other Senate-confirmed executive branch jobs
- Bars representing, aiding, or advising a foreign government of a country of concern
- Agencies must tell appointees about the rule when hired and when they leave
- The restriction ends 5 years after enactment for people appointed after that
