119th Congress
S. 2403

Lets employee stock plans rely on independent appraisals

Lets managers of Employee Stock Ownership Plans rely on an independent appraiser's value for company stock that isn't publicly traded, if the appraiser follows IRS methods.

  • In these plans, workers earn shares of their employer's stock as part of their pay
  • Appraisers must follow IRS Ruling 59-60, the standard method for valuing private businesses
