Sets threat alert rules for federal buildings

Directs the Federal Protective Service to write guidance for telling federal building tenants about violent threats and what to do, with a report to Congress within a year.

• Guidance must cover warnings about gun events, weapons, terrorism and suspicious devices
• Alerts would cover threats in the building or within about 150 feet of it
• A security official at each building would carry out the guidance
• No new money is provided to do this
